Whether she's sapping it up with a romantic ballad or busting blues-tinged country rock, Amber Dotson is one of those proud-to-be-a-redneck women that we love so much. She's a native Texan with pretty girl-next-door looks and a gritty Kathleen Turner-sounding voice. She moved to Nashville after winning various singing competitions in her hometown of Garland, Texas. When a songwriting deal with Sony went south, she almost gave up on her recording career. She was heartbroken until George Strait invited her to tour with him in 2005, which of course landed her a new and improved deal, this time around with Capitol Nashville.
