2003's American Idol contestants have nestled their way into the hearts of the American public with unparalleled fervor, and for good reason. For the most part, this group of finalists is substantially more talented than 2002's crop; Kelly Clarkson was a shoe-in for the top spot last season, whereas this year, three or four contestants are talented enough to walk away with it. Who hasn't enjoyed watching the geek-to-chic transformation of Clay Aiken and Kimberly Locke? Whose heart didn't wrench whenever U.S. Marine Josh Gracin led the contestants in "God Bless the U.S.A. (Proud to be An American)." Who hasn't sat on his couch yelling "Roooooobin" along with the audience whenever honey-throated Ruben Studdard gets up to sing? And then there's Trenyce, whose resemblance to Diana Ross is remarkable!
