The Police's Stewart Copeland and Return to Forever's Stanley Clarke formed Animal Logic as an outlet for their collective rhythmic chops. While they laid down plenty of funky rock-jazz Fusion, they always maintained a strong pop pulse -- think of Level 42 working with Rush. Their run didn't get past the early 1990s but Deborah Holland, the undervalued and engaging singer, has moved on to an interesting solo career.
