Mutter celebrated her 30th year of recording with Mozart's 250th anniversary, and thus the Mozart Project. The Trios are her second installment and include cellist Daniel Muller-Schott and her (now ex-) husband, Andre Previn, on piano. She chose late trios that "gave the violin the most to say," and the conversation between the instruments is at times contemplative, then spirited. Her reading of these trios is decidedly romantic, with long legatos, which may drive classically-inclined listeners a bit nuts.
