BiographyAnthony David hails from Atlanta's neo-soul scene. He takes pride in making authentic soul with a strong blues and gospel backbone, and he addresses socio-political concerns as well as matters of the heart. While that ethos may have kept him from breaking through to a mainstream audience, it has helped him build a devoted following. He first emerged as a songwriter, guest musician and tour manager for India.Arie, co-writing the latter's "Part of My Life" from her 2001 platinum debut, Acoustic Soul. He then released two indie albums, 2004's Three Chords and the Truth and 2006's Red Clay Chronicles. After netting a deal with Universal, he issued 2008's Acey Duecy, which contained his biggest song to date, a duet with India.Arie called "Words." Two years later, he released As Above So Below and the standout single "4evermore."
