About Apparat

Apparat is the solo alias of Sascha Ring, a Berlin-based producer of lush, moody electronic pop. While his peers were going minimal, Ring kept expanding his sound with acoustic textures and heartfelt vocals. Moderat is his collaboration with fellow Berliners Modeselektor, and he released a collaborative album with Ellen Allien. (Ring also ran the Shitkatapult label with T. Raumschmiere.) In 2011, he joined Mute to release his fifth album, The Devil's Walk.
