Any album with a song called "Lothlorien" deserves consideration, even if nobody really cares about the band in question. Let's face it, J.R.R. Tolkien references just go with that Mellotron sound that identifies almost all early '70s prog rock nerd-ery. That said, Argent had the ability to rock and play soul, and they even attempted to combine classical music and Deep Purple. They never seemed to decide on a particular style, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. "Chained" is a tripped-out blues number, and the vocals of opener "Celebration" undoubtedly pointed the way for AOR.
