This band's name bespeaks a fascination with hoofed quadrupeds and tongue-in-cheek humor. The Ass Ponys are unique for the distinctive brand of wry humor they employ in their songwriting. Jeff Foxworthy is probably as much an influence on the band as any musical act. Folky Alt-Country done with the crackpot rural sarcasm of Flannery O'Connor.
