San Francisco's the Assemble Head In Sunburst Sound clearly wouldn't sound the way they do without having aped San Francisco's Comets On Fire. Both bands play sternum-pummeling hard psyche rock slathered with layers of analog tape delay, and both bands have a singer who sounds like he's shouting at you from the busted radio of a crashed spaceship. Hell, you could even say that T.A.H.I.S.S. wouldn't even exist without Comets On Fire. But here's the thing -- they do the Comets thing almost better than Comets. They're tighter, more focused and less dependant on masturbatory Echoplex knob twiddling.
