Label: Steamhammer
Worthy repertoire record by a noted German guitar whiz. High points include covers of tunes by Riot, Chris Rea, Michael Bolton ("Fools Game" -- excellent hard pop from an unexpected adult-contemporary source, namely Bolton's just-post-Blackjack days), Montrose ("Rock the Nation," sounds like the MC5!), Free (seven lovely minutes of "Heartbreaker"), Phil Collins ("In the Air Tonight"). Less notable renditions include "Love Gun," "Won't Get Fooled Again," U2's "Beautiful Day" and the Mission's "Like a Child Again." But way more stuff shakes out as compelling than just taking up space.
