A:xus

Teasing crowds with artful sounds featured on the Chicago-based label Guidance Records, producer/DJ Austin Bascom gently lulls the late night set with his soul-elevating grooves. Known in the mid-1990s as Abacus, Bascom has since assumed the newer guise A:xus, under which he recorded the first single-artist full-length record for Guidance. Steamy synth waves wash over a bottomless mix of beats, lightly funky basslines and sublime vocal stylings from a relaxed diva. Chilled tracks fill your physical body with that warm, yearning feeling.
