This Argentinean outfit has made it their life's work to master -- and perfect -- virtually every hipster rock style under the sun. You want hazy psychedelia? Perhaps with a side of spaghetti western? They got it ("Flora y Fauno"). How about fierce, dirty garage/roadhouse rock? They rage through that, too ("Fiesta Popular"). And that's just the first two tracks. Electro-pop, Manu Chao-esque mellow quirkiness and more than one track that sounds kind of like The Beatles if the Fab Four had moonlighted as gauchos? Babasonicos do it all -- and coat every inch in a sheen of impeccable cool.
