With a name like Backyard Tire Fire you'd think these dudes were a pack of cow punk hellions. If you did indeed think that, The Places We Lived will blow your mind. Like Uncle Tupelo, B.T.F hail from Illinois, yet they sound more influenced by the pub rock of Ted Leo and Dr. Dog. Of course, this is the heartland we're talking about, so jams like "Welcome to the Factory" and "How in the Hell Did You Get Back Here?" come covered in rust from the local factory that closed down back in '83.
