Not even opening for the Beatles could help the Remains score any sort of hit outside of their Boston home. It's a shame, as they were great songwriters who sounded tough and wrote melodic numbers that didn't follow the garage rock dictum. They wrote smart rave-ups like "Don't Look Back" and covered brilliant blues numbers like "My Babe" without sounding derivative.
