Barry's The Greatest Songs of the Fifties took the recording industry by surprise, rocketing to No. 1 on the pop charts and proving that Manilow is still the man in the digital age. This follow- up is the better set, as Barry's '70s soft rock voice is much more suited to the AM radio favorites featured here than supper club standards. Manilow's reverential fan base will love this one no matter what; fast aging rockers will hate it for the same reasons. Some things never change.
