Bassnectar has been cultivating his home-grown style of eclectic, high-octane breaks since dubstep was in its infancy, an ocean and a continent away. But he seems invigorated by the style's recent international explosion. On Timestretch, which closely follows his Cozza Frenzy album, dubstep's lurching wallop informs the swaggering rhythms and wobbly, buzz-saw bass, but he retains his own relentless spirit. The downbeat DJ Vadim and dubsteppers SPL and MRK1 provide remixes.
