Bersuit Vergarabat

This talented Argentinean band plays with a surprising range of palettes. They've got a sure hand when it comes to soft or intimate moments, but they almost always veer sideways just when you think you're getting comfortable. It makes for a constantly engaging listen -- and lord knows they have big shoes to fill, coming from the land of tango and Los Fabulosos Cadillacs. They've been in the game since the late '80s, though they weren't tourring widely until Gustavo Santaolalla produced 1998's Libertinaje.
