Biography

The best coast is the West Coast according to frontwoman Bethany Cosentino of this L.A.-based, retro-loving, sun-worshiping lo-fi pop group. That carefree California vibe is all over Crazy for You, the acclaimed debut she and multi-instrumentalist Bobb Bruno released in 2010. Cosentino's lyrics revolve around beach-bummin', summer lovin' and getting high; her vocals recall '90s alt femme fatales like Liz Phair and Courtney Love, but with more stoney, boy-crazy wistfulness than gritty girl-power angst.
