Bill Conti

Not only is composer Bill Conti recognized by his peers for his fine film compositions, but two of his movie theme songs, "Gonna Fly Now" from Rocky and the James Bond theme "For Your Eyes Only," have topped the pop charts. Conti did excellent work in Hollywood throughout the 1970s, and in 1983 he won an Academy Award for his score to the underrated The Right Stuff. Fans of hairspray, shoulder pads and conspicuous consumption love his instantly recognizable themes to the TV shows Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous and Dynasty, while his stylish score to the 1999 remake of The Thomas Crown Affair became a favorite "chill-out" album among the club set.
