What a drag it is getting old. Billy Gilman's career wasn't damned by the typical pitfalls of child stardom like pills, booze or money squandering parents. It was puberty that did him in. On his self-titled sixth album, an 18-year-old Gilman tries to hide a changed voice and a former identity. He sings that he's not a kid any more in "Billy the Kid" over a slick assembly line of commercial country instrumentation. Pam Tillis joins him on the inspired "Gonna Find Love."
