Released:
Label: 143/Lava/Atlantic
As with most Bjork extras, this compilation of remixed and alternate mid-career tunes is a bit uneven, even if the charmers outweigh the duds. The Brodsky Quartet's imaginative accompaniment to "Hyperballad" is a refreshing take on the tune, and percussionist Evelyn Glennie bangs an almglocken (a set of resonate, pitched cowbells) to make a colorful b-side out of the dirty-talking "My Spine." For range, the conga-paced Deodato remix of "Isobel" might better the original LP version, and the collection showcases two drastically divergent settings of "I Miss You."
