A Touch of Some One Else's Class
Released: Jun 2008
Label: Alive Records
A big ol' stomp from the swamp. Some highlights: "Everything Is Everything" grumbled in the manner of Dr. John or Jim Dandy atop huge drums hip-hopping like Run-D.M.C.'s in "Walk This Way"; "Bidin' My Time," a jazz-leaning apparent chitlin' circuit ballad tribute, moaned slow and low a la Satchmo; speed-swinging Aussie-style bogan-rock gutpunch "Make Some Time"; lo-fidelity pub-punk murderer "Numbers 22 (Balaam's Wild Ass)"; likewise homicidal closing boogie "Happy Hour," which concerns visiting either the "pawn shop" or "porn shop"; "Loose Yourself," one of the hardest-rocking songs of 2008.
