Label: Sst Records
A greatest-hits collection released in the wake of this seminal band's breakup in 1986, Wasted ... Again covers the breadth of Black Flag's incalculably important career. Opening with Keith Morris and touching on everyone that followed -- Ron Reyes, Dez Cadena and Henry Rollins -- the album is an excellent starting place for beginners, as well as a fairly comprehensive overview of Black Flag's many lineups. As might be expected, Greg Ginn's playing is the star of the show: angular, atonal and unhinged. Just try not to crank "Drinking and Driving" (or any of them, really) to 10.
