Released: Jan 2000
Label: Vice Music
Labeled as garage rock but far from content to play one particular style of music for long, Atlanta's Black Lips are as adept at playing reverb-heavy, Gun Club-ish rockabilly ("I Saw A Ghost"), Muswell Hillbillies-era Kinks-iness ("How Do You Tell a Child"), spacey psyche Replacements rock, Oblivians-style lo-fi -- let's just say these guys can play anything. Fans of the Americana explosion of the early '90s (Gories, Bassholes) will be pleasantly surprised by Good Bad Not Evil, the four piece band's third full length, among about a dozen 7-inches.
