Why did it take so long for Blanche to release their sophomore album? Singers Dan and Tracee Miller played Johnny Cash's guitar player, Luther Perkins, and his wife, Margie, in Walk the Line. Worth the wait, Little Amber Bottles starts with "I'm Sure of It," a psychedelic country rocker with strings, banjo and a backbeat. The song sounds like a long-lost Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra duet. "The World I Used to Be Afraid Of" is a witty little murder ballad, and "What This Town Needs" reveals that under their old-timey approximations, Blanche are well versed in punk, gospel and folk music.
