Oh! Look At Me Now

Oh! Look At Me Now by Bobby Darin
Released: Jan 2013
Label: Capitol Records
In 1962, Capitol tapped the genre-jumping, brazenly talented Bobby Darin to try and steal the thunder of their departed star Frank Sinatra. The label paired Darin with the brilliant arranger Billy May (who worked with Sinatra, Nat Cole and more) on a set of alternately slow and swinging standards. Ironically, the same time Capitol was flooding the market with Sinatra material in order to wash out his new releases, Atlantic was saturating record stores with Darin sets in order to confuse the public. As usual, Darin refused to sit still and would next record a country LP and a batch of singles in various styles.
