Androgynous vocals, lyrics written in a fugue during art class, synths that ring as clear and pure as church bells -- such were the dandified sounds of Book of Love. Their biggest hit "Boy" received a good amount of disco rotation in the '80s, leaving behind a wide wake of scrambled gender identities.
