Stretchin' Out In Bootsy's Rubber Band
Bootsy Collins

Rhino/Warner Bros.
Years of service for the JB's and Parliament-Funkadelic earned Bootsy Collins a solo shot, and he delivered an album -- or at least half an album -- of hardcore disco funk. The first half of Stretchin' Out In Bootsy's Rubber Band kicks off with three dancefloor ragers, including the title track, where he unveils himself as "Casper ... booo!" Collins doesn't do as well with the four slow numbers, but he crafts one stone-cold P-Funk classic, the oft-sampled "I'd Rather Be With You."
