Albuquerque's Brokencyde significantly hone their sound on 2008's BC13, the follow-up to their debut album from a year before. The cartoonish edges are toned down, the crunk-inspired beats crunker and the screamo vocals sanded down to, well, sandpaper. Like some unholy merger between Lil Jon and a psychotic in a laryngitis clinic, Brokencyde deliver six tracks of disturbing, headbanging funk.
