Tattooed Millionaire
Bruce Dickinson
Released:
Sep 2002
Label:
Columbia/Legacy
Bruce Dickinson's first solo album is marked by a decidedly un-Maiden sound (except for "Son of a Gun"). In fact, Tattooed Millionaire often sounds like a hard rock/hair metal record from 1985 -- despite its 1990 release. That said, "Dive! Dive! Dive!" is nearly as good as KISS' "I Love It Loud"; "Lickin' the Gun" is as AC/DC-riffic as it sounds like it would be; and everyone should hear Dickinson sing "All the Young Dudes" at least once. This re-issue includes awesome covers of "Sin City" (more AC/DC) and Scorpions' "Winds of Change." Guitarist Janick Gers eventually joined Iron Maiden.
