Jazz Giant is a composite of two different recordings taken from the late forties/early fifties. Powell leads a trio on both sessions (both featuring drummer Max Roach), showing why he was considered one of the best and most inventive pianists. All of the work here is top notch, but the solo, crackly-sounding "I'll Keep Loving You" is especially moving.
