Burt Bacharach won Oscars in 1969 for Best Score and Best Song (the timeless "Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head," sung by B.J. Thomas, was a huge hit and a radio staple throughout the 1970s). Bacharach took a daring approach, combining Western motifs, with '60s baroque pop and traditional movie orchestrations. The movie itself is one of Hollywood's best.
