Live At The Sydney Opera House
Released: Oct 2008
Burt Bacharach cut this soaring concert, featuring 32 of his greatest hits, in celebration of his 80th birthday. Performed as medleys, the vast bulk of the material comes from the '60s and early '70s, when Bacharach (whose lyricist was Hal David) was writing, arranging and producing hits for singers such as Dionne Warwick and crafting themes and scores for films like Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid. While the concert was a success, fans seeking heart-shredding versions of these numbers should go to Bacharach's 2003 collaboration with soul legend Ron Isley, Here I Am.
