Released: Jan 1981
Label: Mute Artists
Fans of the Fall and Joy Division will recognize the sparse production, brittle beats and industrial malevolence of this 1981 release. It's difficult and challenging listening in places, but the Cabs do offer rewards for work put in -- "A Thousand Ways" and "Red Mask" particularly stand out. Never ones to compromise, the Cab's hugely influential sonic purity has aged well despite the advances in technology since their days of tape loops and stone-age synths.
