Though "Word Up" proved to be their big crossover moment, N.Y. powerhouse Cameo began cranking out hard-edged funk jams back in the early 1970s. There have been several retrospectives released in the wake of their demise, but this one is probably the most thorough representation of their underappreciated sound, with 30 tracks of high-octane music from the crew.
