This 1994 collaboration between the Australian Richard Davies and the American Eric Matthews kick-started the orchestral indie pop movement and still sounds amazing today. Davies, who wears his bittersweet heart on his sleeve, is counterpointed by Matthews' floating, emotionally-removed vocals and sweeping, intricate arrangements.
