Remember the shimmery, Starbucks-approved bossa-pop songstress of CéU? Well, she has apparently fallen through the looking glass into the strange, psychedelic side of samba on album three. The aptly titled Caravana is a weird and wonderful journey through gauzy girl-group sounds, Sgt. Peppery surf rock, dubby carnivals and blippy/trippy marshmallow worlds of dream-pop. CéU floats through it all, her silky shiver of a voice a delicate but powerful presence. "Amor de Antigos" sounds like it was recorded through a rain shower, or maybe a wrinkle in time. It'll change your life.
