While Chante Moore built her career on lush adult R&B, she often flirts with material that challenges her. On Moore Is More, she dips into gospel testimony ("Jesus, I Want You"), torchy jazz ("Cry Me a River"), Timbaland-styled swag ("Doctor Doctor") and sassy putdowns ("Alone," "Mrs. Under, Stood"). She even dabbles in dance-pop alongside Da Brat with "On and On." But when she returns to familiar territory with "Talking in My Sleep," where she wrestles with love while subtly adorning her performance with a high falsetto, everything else seems like a distraction.
