Alberstein composed the music, 20th century Yiddish poems provided the lyrics, and the Klezmatics provided, well, the klezmer. Alberstein's evocative, understated singing is the perfect coolant for the band's wonderfully overheated playing, but it's the poems that steal the show. Even if you don't know Yiddish, you'll be moved by "Ergets Shtil" and "Vek Nisht."
