Biography

Born Elmer Figueroa Arce in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, Chayanne started singing in the early 1980s with Puerto Rican boy band Los Chicos. After an agonizing decision to leave the group and pursue a solo career, he released his debut in 1989 to massive popular acclaim. Since then he's remained consistently at the top of the Latin charts and garnered several Grammy nominations.
