This is his 20th album, which means that Chayanne had approximately 190 power ballads under his belt before he embarked on this pop excursion. But if you're expecting 10 clones of the hit "Si No Quedara Poco Tiempo," cash in your chips now: Chayanne certainly bows to the sensitive rock god, but he also pursues a more tropical sound, dueting with a reggae artist on the excellent "Lola" and getting all jiggy on "Bailarina." Mi Tiempo still falls heavily in romantic territory, but Chayanne (thanks in no small part to songwriter Estefano) ventures a few degrees past his comfort zone.
