Written almost entirely by Chely's weird self and produced with classic pop shimmer by Rodney Crowell, this is one of 2010's most unexpectedly great country albums. A few reasons why: a steamily accelerating railroad tune; two unguarded revenge songs that sneak in words you can't say on TV; a morbidly sweet ditty where Chely imagines her own death and hopes her sister doesn't find the corpse; a cryptic serenade to a beer-drinking gardener who prefers green to tomatoes; a windmills-of-her-mind swirl where she takes a pill then watches planets and punctuation marks (!?!) float in space.
