Lonely Star: The Prestige Sessions
by Chet Baker
Released: Aug 1965
This is one of three CDs that together compile all the music Chet Baker cut for Prestige Records back in 1965. Overall, Lonely Star isn't that far from the cool, warm-toned bop that Baker played in the 1950s, but he sounds strong and confident throughout. Sadly, Baker's star had waned considerably by this time, and these sessions received little attention and were soon out of print. The other CDs in the series are On a Misty Night and Stairway to the Stars.
