The Lighthouse All-Stars were an ever-changing group that gave LA musicians the opportunity to cut hard bop jam sessions. Here, Baker joins them on two live sets one with Shelly Manne on drums, the other with Max Roach. The sound quality is poor and Baker's playing is uneven but sax players Bud Shank, Bob Cooper or Jimmy Giuffre are on fire throughout.
