by Chris Botti
Released: Sep 2007
Chris Botti continues his winning streak of romantic releases by tackling Italianate ballads. Botti has long since stripped away the electro-beats and soul grooves common in smooth jazz and now lets his beautiful tone and economic sense of space rule the day. Three standards mingle with the rhapsodic Continental fare: Dean Martin guests on "I've Grown Accustomed to Her Face," Paula Cole sings "The Very Thought of You," and Botti plays Rodgers and Hart's "It Never Entered My Mind" (perhaps because Miles based his version on Frank Sinatra's).
