Appearing in 1979, "TV As Eyes" is one of the all-time great Chrome songs, gathering the band's simultaneously futuristic and pre-punk Stooge-iness into two minutes of inconceivably prescient punk noise soothsaying. The rest of this two-album set follows the same pattern: if Martians are made out of tinfoil and have nightmares, they probably sound like this. Chrome's unyielding experimentalism is thankfully rooted in rock music and old-school psychedelia, so the "artistic" elements don't get boring. But the fact remains: this is not for everybody. That's probably a good thing.
