Released: May 2005
Label: Rhino Atlantic
A gifted soul man from Atlanta, Chuck Willis racked up a string of blues-soaked R&B singles throughout the 1950s, before his untimely death in 1958 at just 30 years old. His songs would later be covered by everyone from Elvis to Otis Redding. This compilation focuses mostly on his work with the Okeh label and includes melancholy gems like "Juanita" and "Love Me Cherry."
