After four years spent tending the Dirtybird nest, San Francisco's Claude VonStroke takes flight on his first album since 2009's Bird Brain. As always, the sound is unmistakably his, a kinetic mixture of classic house and techno touched up with sounds borrowed from Miami bass, hyphy and drum 'n' bass. He's got a knack for fleshing out sleek machine grooves with incongruous vocal samples and other sonic non sequiturs, like the organ blasts and arrhythmic applause of "The Clapping Track," that create their own peculiar logic, generating bird-brained delirium on the dancefloor.
