While many patriotic country musicians have no problem poking fun at hippies, it's as refreshing as it is funny to hear Clay Walker sing about discovering his mom's secret hippie past while going through her high school yearbook in "Fore She Was Mama," the opening song to Fall, his first outing on Curb Records. The title track is a heartfelt ballad about trust, and "Workin' Man" is a more upbeat, new traditional song about the kind of blue-collar life that Walker doesn't have to experience firsthand. The "it" in "She Likes It in the Morning" has nothing to do with coffee.
