Credited to Moebius/Roedelius, 1991's Apropos Cluster was the duo's first album in eight years. A lot had changed in that time. The rise of industrial, techno and even New Age had turned Cluster into hip forefathers of all three scenes. Yet there's no resting on laurels here. Cluster is clearly looking ahead, forging a kind of mutant pop music featuring piano, fretless bass and percolating electronics. With its sinister pulse and whale's-cry melody, "Gespiegelt" is the album's highlight.
